Thanks for the response! I haven’t lived out of a van in a year, but I definitely still consider myself a minimalist.
This is all it takes to be minimalist! Just looking over what you do own with a critical eye and really asking if it’s adding value to your life. You might own three hundred things or only three things. It’s the same question either way.
And some people own three hundred things that are adding value — if that library full of books is adding value, go ahead and keep it! If the clothes are really adding value, keep them!
It’s just hard for me to believe people’s possessions are adding value to their life when they don’t even know all they own. If one has a pile of clothes and the ones at the bottom haven’t been unearthed in six months, they’re not adding value because they aren’t even being used, you know?
