What a great article. I remember the day my mom stopped being A Parent and started being A Friend. Not that she’s not still my mom, but we have level interactions as adults now that simply weren’t possible when she was still actively involved in raising me. I’m not a parent, so I don’t know what it’s like there, but it was a bizarre transition to become my adult parent’s friends as opposed to my parents' kid.
